Anna is a 31 year-old who is in graduate teaching instructor in the midwest. Anna spent several years in East Asia teaching English and loves words, language, and a modest dose of presidential politics. Anna also writes for Single Matters, a new, online magazine focused on helping singles understand how their stories uniquely glorify God.
In her own words, Anna is involved with FastPray because…
God has chosen this ministry path for me in this time in my life. I returned home from East Asia 2 years ago, lost and confused about my new American life. I was completely frustrated because I wasn’t seeing God working with or caring about my desire to be married. Looking back now, I know that God used that frustration to fuel my desire for partnering with other single women on this journey. I knew, if I was going to be single, yet somehow remain joyful, not bitter, and hopeful for the future, I needed intentional community. God has abundantly provided.
Anna’s favorite passage is Psalm 103. Here are some selected verses.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless his holy name! The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
